This workshop will show you how to go about publishing your book. Many authors now choose to self-publish and this workshop is designed to introduce self-publishing to the independent local history author, providing step-by-step guidelines. It will outline how to avoid the common pitfalls and will guide you on the path to becoming a successful, published independent author.

Without local historians, many aspects of vital local history would be lost to present and future generations. Publishing this work preserves the research and the information for many years to come. It enriches our lives and helps us to understand the present through the work of our local historian.

This online half-day workshop, facilitated by editor Siobhán Prendergast of Dingle Publishing, full member of AFEPI Ireland and Advanced Professional Member of CIEP, will begin on Saturday 8th May, 9.30–12.30pm, as part of the Irish Writers Centre professional courses for writers.
